Wednesday night
well! finally getting to the show report I promised everyone.
We arrived at the engineering halls in monash at about 10 am, after driving from the Tullermarine side of town. we managed to find a park near the door, (good for Dad) and paid our seven bucks and got through the door.. first thing we saw inside was a Gent exhibiting a steam operated clock, almost complete, and running nicely. It was mounted on a temporary frame, about 7 feet to the centre of the dial. It looked destined to be set up outside as a street clock maybe.
another thing that took our eye just inside the door was a 2" scale showmans road loco,(the guy says he made it too small, should have been 4" scale..) and dad agrees..
a nice job really.
As for railway locos, this one wins for sheer size.. its an AD60 class beyer garret in 7 1/4" gauge. :-O Three metres Long, and super detail.
Another Loco was a 7 1/4" gauge model of Trevithick's Penydarren Locomotive.. very nice, and a lot of fun I would say!
